Honest comparison.
MoeLog does not win on features. It wins on bytes, on setup cost, and on being able to report the failures that happen after your process is already gone.

What it costs.
Self-hosted
Standard distributionForever, for any use, commercial included, as long as you comply with the AGPL. No event caps, no seat counts, no telemetry back to us.
Commercial license
Proprietary bypassFor companies that cannot ship their modifications or cannot offer an AGPL service. Dual licensing, one copyright holder, a CLA from every contributor. Not a product yet; talk to us.
What the AGPL actually means
AGPL-3.0-only, the FSF text, unmodified. We used to have a custom license with royalty clauses. We dropped it: a license nobody has seen has to go through a legal department, and that kills adoption before the software gets to prove anything.
The wire protocol is versioned, specified outside the JavaScript SDK, and shipped with a conformance suite in plain JSON. The ports to Python, Go, Rust and the JVM implement the spec; they do not translate the JavaScript.
